Extensis’ Portfolio Server software is a fantastic solution for marketing and creative workgroups. It makes it easy to organise and catalogue your organisation’s digital assets, and to share them within your organisation.
Xibis has recently completed the build of a web site that integrates with Portfolio Server to allow a major communication agency’s assets to be searchable by their clients.
The communications agency simply uses Portfolio Server to manage their assets as normal. The bespoke Xibis synchronisation application automatically downloads the latest assets from the Portfolio Server database and puts them into a Xibis-built online system. The communication company’s clients can then log in to a secure web site to view, order and download their assets online.
The advantages to the communications agency are numerous. The different departments of each client now have immediate access to their corporate imagery instantaneously. This has not only dramatically increased the use of the imagery, but also heavily reduced the number of phone calls to the communications agency.
As part of the project, a great deal of research was done into Portfolio Server’s internal database structure. We can now integrate with other any Portfolio Server system with ease. You can learn more about the Portfolio Server application here.
